Blu Putnam on the Latest Jobs Report

CME Group chief economist Blu Putnam spoke with Margaret Brennan of Bloomberg on Friday following the release of the latest jobs report. The report showed that the economy added 227,000 jobs and the unemployment rate held steady at 8.3 percent, something Putnam calls “a very strong number.” He also explains the importance of the household survey, and gives a forecast for the cost of living.
