Analysts Weigh In On USDA Report

Today’s USDA planted acreage report was perhaps the most heavily anticipated crop report yet this year. Drought continues throughout parts of the Midwest, and it was the first major report released during expanded grain trading hours. This afternoon on CME Group’s Chicago trading floor, a panel of three experts — Bill Tierney, Chief Economist at Ag Resource Company; Jerrod Kitt, Research Director at Linn Group; and Greg Wagner, President of GWX Ag Advisors — discussed the report’s findings and how it impacted the markets.
