The preliminary round of the annual CME Group Trading Challenge wrapped up Thursday, February 19, with several universities still battling for leading spots. More than 500 teams from 37 countries have been narrowed down to the best competitors for the final round of the challenge starting Sunday. View the top 50 teams that advanced to the Championship Round here. Students will continue to contend until March 6 for the highest account balance and their chance to be crowned winners of the 2015 competition.
What has always separated this challenge, now in its 12th year, from so many others in futures trading is it is purely collegiate and provides real professional trading experience. Student teams execute orders from all major asset classes on a real-time professional trading platform, provided by CQG, while accessing live Dow Jones newsfeeds and The Hightower Report.
