Bob Matyi is a veteran freelance journalist with a strong background in commodities, energy and business, both in the U.S. and Canada. He has won numerous state writing/reporting awards, in addition to a first-place Champion Tuck national award for explanatory journalism for a newspaper series about a Kentucky electric cooperative. He is a regular contributor to a variety of McGraw-Hill/Platts publications and to magazines such as Coal Age. He and his wife and daughter reside in Henderson, Kentucky.
